Although only a short walk, this is a great one to do if you have young children. Not only is there the opportunity to stop off at a great play area, there are also a couple of nice cafes on the way.

Park in Hirst Wood car park just off Hirst Lane in Saltaire and take the small bridge that will bring you to the side of the canal.

Take a right down the hill and walk along the canal until you reach Saltaire and see the signs for Roberts Park.

Head over the bridge which straddles the river Aire and down into the park, you will see the children’s play area on the right.

Taking the path on the left loop around the park and stop off at the Half Moon Café which is situated in the centre of the park. 

The path is great for prams or even if you have little ones on bikes and trikes.  Head back up the hill, onto the bridge and you are back on the canal to loop back.

Of course Saltaire is lovely to look around if you fancy stopping with Salts Mill and lots of cafes and shops.

A great Autumn stroll which will keep both parents and children happy.
